Extrusion Coating Systems
nTact's Extrusion coating / deposition technology is based on a slot die and allows for efficient, high performance spinless coating of a wide variety of materials for numerous applications such as flat panel displays (including LCD, OLED, flexible, and others), photovoltaic panels (such as CIGS, CdTe, OPV, and others), Solid State Lighting (OLED and LED), and various Organic and Printed Electronic applications such as RFID, Polymer Batteries, Sensors and others.
Extrusion Coating System features include:
- Able to Coat Organic or Inorganic Liquids on flexible or rigid substrates
- Available for R&D as well as Gen2 through Gen8 substrate processing
- Highly efficient process: technology ensures over 95% material use
- High throughput (low TACT time) process
- Extremely accurate fluid dispense rates and volume control
- Coating thickness range from under 20 nm to >150 µm
- Minimal equipment footprint requirements
- Low Fill Volume option limits lot size of high cost polymers and other materials
nDeavor - Production Systems
These high-performance coaters are used in large volume production of LCD products, PV, OLED, Flexible Display and various Organic and Printed Electronics applications. This system offers a robust, production-ready platform that generates high yields (>95%) with minimal operating and maintenance costs. It is available for processing Gen2 through Gen8 substrate sizes and beyond. It is also available for Spinless Coating of up to 450mm Silicon wafers.

nTact's proprietary slot die coating technology delivered in a small footprint, affordable platform geared to the R&D and pre-production market. The standard package is designed for the processing of 150 and/or 200mm square substrate sizes with a variety of optional features available for other applications.

nTact has developed a technique for depositing multiple, well defined coated areas on a single substrate. Essentially any array of rectangular shapes can be coated on a single panel (within fluid property limitations) without the use of a mask. In addition, nTact has developed a method to provide low-resolution patterning (Macro Patterning) of the coated areas. This method can be used to achieve complex patterns as well as rectilinear shapes.

nTact's extrusion deposition coating is becoming the preferred technology for cost effective deposition of various organic chemistries.
Company Factoid
In 1997, nTact sold its pump division to Milipore/Mykorlis, yet managed to retain the rights to use the technology for extrusion coating applications.
Optimal Material Utilization
nTact's new R&D system, the nRad, can be operated with fill volumes as low as 15ml, making it ideal for testing small batches of material.
