Company

Established in 1988, nTact is the dba for FAS Holdings Group, LLC, and is engaged in the design, development, manufacture, integration, sale and service of advanced, high-precision deposition (coating) systems, inspection systems, and integrated process solutions for the display, microelectronics, alternative energy, and other thin-film dependent industries. The company enjoys worldwide recognition as a pioneer in the development of fluid handling and coating equipment for a wide range of high technology applications, and is the inventor of the extrusion or “spinless” coating, a slot die based technology that has become the standard deposition method for the flat panel display (FPD) industry.

nTact was founded in Dallas, Texas, and was initially focused on the development of an innovative and proprietary dual-stage pump for dispensing high purity polymers. The Company successfully introduced a line of patented fluid handling products, delivering these products worldwide to major semiconductor manufacturers. In the early 1990s, using its proven dispense technology as a foundation, nTact began the development of its extrusion coating technology, identifying it at the time as "FAS-Coat," for thin film microelectronics applications. The development work of this slot die based coating technology occurred in the early stages of the FPD industry and eventually became the de facto standard for large area processing and LCD manufacturing.

nTact's proprietary coating technology has made it possible for a single technology platform to provide the essential coating / deposition operations in key markets such as Flat Panel Display (including LCD, OLED, PLED, Flexible, and Touch Screen), Solid State Lighting (OLED / PLED), Photovoltaic (Organic PV, CIGS, CdTe and other thin film applications), RFID & ICC, Semiconductor, and others including biomedical and fuel cells.

Management & Directors

David A. Torres, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Torres has over 30 years of experience in the semiconductor, flat panel display, and computer systems industries. He held senior level product marketing management and capital equipment sales management positions at Fairchild Semiconductor, Memorex Corporation, AT&T, and Quartz International Corporation. Mr. Torres was co-founder of Motion Automation Systems, a material handling automation manufacturer for Si wafers and FPD substrates, and co-founder of NexTech Solutions, Inc., a maker of AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) systems for the FPD industry. Prior to his role as CEO, Mr. Torres was President of FAS Holdings Group.

Stephen Newman, President & COO

Mr. Newman has over 20 years of experience in Flat Panel Display process equipment, material handling automation, and Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) engineering design and software controls technology. Formerly, he was the founder and President of SBA Technical and Vice President & General Manager of Presswerx, Inc. Mr. Newman has been instrumental in the development of the FAS Advantage series extrusion coaters and AOI systems. Prior to his position as President and COO, Mr. Newman held the position of Senior Vice President Engineering at FAS Holdings Group.

Greg Gibson, Chief Business Development Officer

Mr. Gibson joined FAS shortly after its founding and was the lead technical contributor in the development of FAS' extrusion coating technology. Mr. Gibson has more than 25 years of experience in FPD and semiconductor equipment manufacturing and related process equipment. He holds numerous patents in the area of high-purity fluid filtration dispensing and advanced coating techniques and he is the inventor of FAS' selective area coating (post deposition patterning) technology. Prior to his position as Chief Business Development Officer, Mr. Gibson held the position of Chief Technology Officer.

Dr. Robbie Charters, Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Charters joined nTact in August 2011. Formerly with RPO, Nortel Networks and the Australian National University, Dr. Charters has a Ph.D. in physics and has become an acknowledged worldwide expert in photonics and polymer waveguides. With RPO, he pioneered a high performance, low-cost waveguide manufacturing technology based on flexible substrates, the key enabling technology for RPO's DWT touchscreen product. Dr. Charters holds several patents in the areas of optical and waveguide design and pattered polymer materials.

Miguel Friedrich, Vice President, Sales

Mr. Friedrich has over 15 years of experience in sales, marketing, operations and finance. He originally joined FAS as a consultant to help the company restructure and has since held the positions of Executive Vice President with FAS Technologies and Vice President of Marketing during FAS's joint venture with NexTech Solutions. Before joining FAS, Mr. Friedrich was Vice President at Hughes-Roth Capital Markets, a private investment bank focusing on Mergers, Acquisitions and Corporate Finance, where he was responsible for business development, relationship management, and overseeing the underwriting process. During his tenure at Hughes-Roth Mr. Friedrich was instrumental in the Company's signing and structuring of over half a billion dollars in financing projects.

Scott Snodgrass, Director, Engineering

Mr. Snodgrass joined FAS in 1990 while completing his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. Following graduation he continued with FAS, eventually expanding his role to Director of Engineering, and has been a key contributor in the development of extrusion coating products and core methodologies, which has resulted in the award of several patents in that field. His experience also includes leadership roles for projects in both domestic and overseas markets, as well as the stewardship of the company's intellectual property portfolio.

Alexis McCain, PHR, Director, Human Resources

Before joining nTact, Ms. McCain spent 7 years at Tekelec, where she managed all human resources functions for the IEX division. In addition, she participated in multiple company acquisitions, which eventually grew Tekelec's Texas group from 100 employees to over 1,000 employees. Prior to Tekelec, Ms. McCain worked in recruiting at California State Automobile Association in San Francisco, CA, and spent several years in marketing at The Forbes Group. Ms. McCain holds bachelor degrees in Psychology and Public Relations from Southern Methodist University.
