Automated Optical Inspection Systems

nVision, nTact's Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) technology provides a unique tool for the optical inspection of processed and unprocessed substrates. nTact's AOI systems combine nTact's know-how in substrate handling, air bearing, motion control, and system integration, with the newly developed technologies in the areas of optics, illumination, image capture, and image processing.

nTact's nVision systems offer complete automated inspection of substrates in various stages of processing. Typical inspection options include repeated and non-repeated pattern inspection, defect detection, CD measurements, and overlay accuracy. The use of nTact's inspection technology enhances the efficiency of the production process and reduces the overall failure rate of the devices being manufactured by detecting defects throughout the manufacturing cycle.

nTact's nVision systems offer the following features:

  • Darkfield and brightfield illumination for surface sitting particle inspection and pattern inspection.
  • Surface sitting particle inspection.
  • Repeated and non-repeated pattern inspection.
  • High intensity illumination to run at up to 30 frames per second.
  • Sub-micron defect inspection-capable systems are available.
  • Low overhead image processing software.
  • User friendly defect review software.
  • Systems are customizable and capable of defect inspection for non-traditional applications including flexible display, OLED and touch screen.

New Product Usage

nTact's extrusion deposition coating is becoming the preferred technology for cost effective deposition of various organic chemistries.

Company Factoid

In 1997, nTact sold its pump division to Milipore/Mykorlis, yet managed to retain the rights to use the technology for extrusion coating applications.

Optimal Material Utilization

nTact's new R&D system, the nRad, can be operated with fill volumes as low as 15ml, making it ideal for testing small batches of material.
